CODEMOTION 2013: PRIMA ROMA, POI BERLINO, INFINE MADRID!

In 2013 Codemotion will be in three different countries: Italy in March, Germany in May and Spain in October. Our dream is to create an international network of people who are enthusiastic about technology and innovation. We began in 2011 in Rome, then in 2012 we arrived in Madrid and in 2013 we will finally be in Berlin, a city which is extremely dynamic and where the will to create innovation is palpable and contagious.

With the spirit of Codemotion we want to “contaminate” developers, makers, passionate people and students from all over the world. Although we try to create something different in each country, the protagonists of the event will always be the technical contents and Codemotion People.

CODEMOTION, THE EVET OPEN TO ALL LANGUAGES AND TECHNOLOGIES

Codemotion is the event open to all languages and technologies. It is the result of the evolution of Javaday Roma, which after four years has become a meeting point for the entire field of programming.

Year 2013 will be the third edition for Codemotion Rome; the second edition for Codemotion Madrid and the first one for Codemotion Berlin! The last edition of Codemotion Rome was in March 2012 and it saw 3700 subscriptions, 25 communities of developers and 22 sponsor companies. During Codemotion 2012 there have been 88 talks about: gaming, mobile, hacking, os, tools, innovation, what’s hot, languages, enterprise, web and methods. Furthermore, two labs on mobile and one for children took place simultaneously.

The program of Codemotion is defined through Call for Paper, which is public and open to everyone. The selection of the various proposals will be done through an evaluation made by the representatives of the official communities both linked to the different languages and software development.

During Codemotion the participants will be able to hand in their CV to the sponsor companies and have new job opportunities.

The Startup in Action initiative will be repeated in this edition in order to plan an itinerary to let the developers and startups meet together, so that they can create favourable synergies for innovation. Codemotion Rome will be held in Rome on 22nd and 23rd March in the department of Engineering of the Third University of Rome.

MAKERS AND TECHNOLOGICAL ARTISANS FABRICATE EMOTIONS AT CODEMOTION

A software developer can be described as a code artisan, an artist who makes use of his expertise to make a good job.

Who creates real instruments enhancing the tradition with innovation is even more an artisan. This is just what the makers do: they combine code and hardware with everyday objects and create amazing instruments that they can share with others.
In this way Codemotion – the event open to all languages and technologies – becomes a natural space where the movement of the makers is welcomed. This movement is the core of a restless revolution that is already overthrowing the industrial rules. Today it is not just the big companies that can be makers, but also anyone who has the expertise and “the will to do”, because the technologies that are needed are powerful, amusing and accessible.

For anyone who dreams of creating something to produce independently, Codemotion will be an occasion to get to know the maker movement, both through the exposition area – where one can admire creations and inventions – and by attending the technical speaks in schedule.
